ARISE! Summer Early Worship Service
Our 8:30 am summer service, ARISE, will begin on June 2. Shorter than our regular 10:30 worship service, ARISE is done by 9:15 so you can have the rest of the day ahead of you.
This Sunday, April 28, we’ll begin our new series on the book of Acts. It’s called Unexpected: the unlikely, ironic and surprising stories in the book of Acts. In what ways does God act unexpectedly? What unexpected events have happened in your life? How can you be an unexpected blessing in the lives of others?
Worship is every Sunday at 10:30 a.m. All are welcome, and we hope to see you here…unexpected or not.
Our services this year for Holy Week will be at 6:30 pm on Maundy Thursday and 12:00 pm and 7:00 pm on Good Friday. Our Maundy Thursday service will be our annual “passed meal” (bring finger foods) followed by a drama. Good Friday’s services will be identical so you can choose the time that is best for you, and will offer a multimedia worship experience of music, readings, video, and more.
Our Easter message this year will be From Sorrow to Joy. We’ll begin with our annual Easter Brunch at 9:00 a.m. All are welcome!
“Very early in the morning on the first day of the week, the women went to the tomb, bringing the fragrant spices they had prepared. They found the stone rolled away from the tomb, but when they went in, they didn’t find the body of the Lord Jesus. They didn’t know what to make of this. Suddenly, two men were standing beside them in gleaming bright clothing. The women were frightened and bowed their faces toward the ground, but the men said to them, “Why do you look for the living among the dead?”
–Luke 24:1-5
This study will help us discover why Jesus commanded that he be remembered in the breaking of bread and why the church continues to celebrate the risen Christ by gathering around the table.
Meets every Sunday night during Lent from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
Our new Lenten series, On the Move with Jesus, will begin on Ash Wednesday, March 6, 2019. Begin Lent by walking a guided, self-paced path of meditation and reflection on scripture and images, and receive the imposition of ashes. The sanctuary will be open from 4:00 to 6:00 pm.
Our journey will continue through Lent, exploring the places Jesus moved, in physical locations during his lifetime, and through every part of human experience, experiencing what we experience: temptation, joy, suffering, death.
Where will Jesus take you?

Using John A. Stroman’s book “Singing Mary’s Song” as a guide, we will offer a 4-week Advent class for adults.
From the book:
“When Mary learns that she will be the mother of the Messiah, she sings an unusual song. It’s not just a sweet lullaby anticipating her baby’s birth. Instead, Mary’s song is an aria of freedom and hope for the homeless, the hungry, the refugee, and the powerless.”
All are welcome at this Advent class! Feel free to RSVP on Facebook to let us know you’re coming.
