Spring Study Series

Author Adam Hamilton believes that powerful answers to many of our complicated questions are contained in the Apostles’ Creed, an early statement of foundational Christian beliefs. In Creed, he explores not only what Christians believe, but also why they believe, and why it matters, which in turn leads readers to confront and examine their own core beliefs and go beyond reciting the Creed’s familiar words. A great companion study to the spring worship series, CREED will be offered for six weeks in three weekly sessions led by Rev. Bushey beginning Sunday, April 8th. School-age children, youth (parents welcome) and will meet at 9AM on Sunday morning, Adult and Teen sessions will be offered on Sunday evenings at 6:00PM and Wednesdays (beginning April 11th) at 1:00PM. Books for the study are $13.50 (large print available). Sign up this Sunday!

Spring Worship Series

Since the beginning of time, humans have had the need to belong to something bigger than ourselves. BE -Belong, Behave, Believe will remind all of us that in Christ, we all belong, regardless of belief or behavior to the body of Christ known as the church. You belong because God already knows your name and in Jesus has claimed you as God’s own child. You belong because God’s promise to be your God and for you to be a member of God’s family has been fulfilled in Jesus. This is a perfect series for someone who just isn’t sure about the whole church thing.

Sundays @ 10:30AM

April 8th
A Community of Skeptics
John 20:19-31 & Acts 4:32-35
Doubt and skepticism is not an enemy of faith. Hear the story of how a whole community of Christ came to belong to one another through their  skepticism and doubt.

April 15th
A Community of Love
1 John 3:1-3; 4: 7-12,20-21
Nothing says belonging like a shared meal. Come hear the story of a people learning how to behave as a community at table fellowship.

April 22nd
A Community of Truth & Healing
1 John 3:16-24
Belonging begins by telling the truth about in our relationships with one another and with God. Healing love is more than spoken words, but acts of mercy and kindness.

April 29th
A Welcoming Community of Disciples
 Acts 8:26-40
Everyone has a place at the table in this community, even those we must bring the table to in order that we may fellowship with them. Who are the people in our community who are curious about God and interested in exploring what we have come to believe.

May 6th
A Community of Believers
1 John 5: 1-6
We belong to God and one another in the community of Christ. We love one another because God chose to love us first, just as we are. And, belonging together in Christ we may become a community of believers in Jesus as Savior of the World.

Most Recent Sunday Message

Living in the Shadows: Shame based on 1 Peter 4:12-14; 5:6-11:   “If anyone knew shame it had to be Peter. Shame is a powerful emotion. It is the feeling of failure – failure to live up to some expectation that we have for ourselves. Shame is powerful, but we have witnessed something even more powerful in the love, grace, mercy, kindness, and forgiveness we find in Jesus. For in Jesus, we have nothing to be ashamed of.

”  Worship with us Sundays at 10:30 AM. All are Welcome!
