Worship with us on Sundays:
Sunday morning @ 10:30 a.m. From June through August we also have an earlier service called ARISE @8:30 a.m.
welcoming, friendly, inspiring, renewing
Join us as we offer our praise and gratitude to God in community, find nourishment for our lives through word and table fellowship, and dedicate our lives to serving the Lord!
What to Wear?
You are invited to come as you are comfortable! Some of our regular attenders dress casually and some formally. Jeans are fine. Suit coats and dresses are too. Be yourself and come and worship.
What Should I Expect When I Arrive?
Our Hospitality Team will welcome you at either entrance and be glad to give directions to the Welcome Center, Coat Room, Restrooms, Sanctuary, Etc. Our ushers will hand you a Worship Bulletin with the Order of the Service printed inside and announcements on the back. A Prayer Concerns bookmark is inserted with the names of those who wish to be on the prayer list and have given permission to be included. If you have a prayer concern to share, the ushers will give you a Prayer Request Card to complete before worship begins.
What Happens During the Worship Experience?
Our Worship begins with a Time of Praise and Introduction to Worship, occasionally a Children’s Homily for Elementary Age Children and Sharing in Prayer. Each Sunday we Receive an Offering for the Missions and Ministries of Central, locally and globally.
Stewardship is an important part of the faith experience and you are invited to participate in our offering as together we respond gratefully to God’s wondrous love made known to us in Jesus. At the close of the offering we stand and sing a prayer of blessing known as the Doxology:
Praise God, from Whom all blessings flow
Praise God, all creatures here below
Praise God above, ye heavenly host
Praise Creator, Christ, and Holy Ghost
We continue in our worship with a word from the ancient text of our faith, the Bible, read by our Worship Leader. The Scripture(s) may reflect the season of the church year (such as Christmas or Easter) or support a series of topics relevant to the life of faith in the 21st Century. The Proclamation of the Word follows (see Video Sermons for examples). Each message ends with an Invitation to Discipleship, open to all who wish to proclaim Jesus as Lord and Savior.
As members of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) we celebrate the saving acts and presence of Jesus Christ each Sunday at the Table of the Lord. All who believe in Jesus are invited to share in the Lord’s Supper. Bread and grape juice are passed by our Diaconate and as we serve one another, we eat the bread and then hold the cup to drink together as led by an Elder. Don’t worry, we give instructions every Sunday.
Having been renewed, challenged, encouraged and nourished we are sent out into the World to be disciples of Jesus.
How Long is the Worship Service?
Our worship service is generally one hour.
